The Volunteer Service Centers are responsible for organizing, managing, and providing technical, training, and information support services to promote and strengthen the presence and role of volunteers in all third sector organizations.
The 49 (CSVs) are managed by assemblies consisting of almost 9 thousand member associations that give life to collective management bodies including almost 1,000 volunteers. With a network of 300 help desks available in all Italian regions and 700 agents, the centres provide almost 200 thousand services free of charge to approximately 90 thousand parties.
Services
CSVs organize their services in six areas:
Promotion of volunteering and local animation activities The CSV's mission is to highlight the values of volunteering and the social impact of voluntary work, promoting a culture of solidarity, especially among young people. Guidance in schools is also an important area of intervention.
Training Qualify volunteers and aspiring volunteers, fostering greater awareness of their role and the development of transversal skills.
Counselling CSVs offers qualified assistance and guidance to associations in various areas: legal-fiscal, management-organizational, fundraising, etc.
Information and communication CSVs provide communication services dedicated to promoting and disseminating news about volunteering.
Research and documentation Several CSVs store thousands of volumes that can be freely consulted by users; the Centers also make databases and knowledge on the world of volunteering and the third sector available throughout the country, at the national, European, and international levels.
Logistics CSVs offers meeting spaces, tools, and equipment to volunteers and associations to facilitate their operations.
